Senior Officer - International Collaboration

  • New Uzbekistan University was established on 23rd July 2021 under the Agency for the development of Presidential, Creative and Specialized schools under the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan
  • The main goal of New University Uzbekistan (NUU) is to provide world-class education, taking into account the development prospects of the country, to train internationally competitive, highly qualified personnel capable of ensuring the progressive development of society
  • The official language of NUU is English – all core subjects are to be held in English
  • NUU works in collaboration with internationally reputable Universities – the course and syllabus of the School of Engineering is to be designed in partnership with the Technical University of Munich, which is ranked 41st place in the world ranking by Times Higher Education

Management of the department of International Relations supports the University’s sustainable and comprehensive development by establishing:

  • Assist in development of the University’s International Strategy.
  • Be responsible for the development plans with regard to International Strategy.
  • Work with Faculty and Dean's office to ensure the International Development Plan is implemented in order to ensure the Students/Staff/Researchers international experience.
  • Assist in development of policies, processes and procedures related to Internationalization and global engagement.
  • Identify International Funded opportunities and assist in development of relevant proposals.
  • To work with all relevant departments that engage or need to engage in the development of the Universities international profile.
  • To manage the Administrative process the Partnership Development process including all the Partnership Agreements, the databases of partnerships and partnership enquires and follow ups.
  • To develop and enhance the regulations for visa and registration procedures. 
  • To provide visa and registration assistance and other logistical support to upcoming university visitors, foreign students and international staff. 
  • To coordinate and operate collaboratively with University colleagues in other international services to address international staff and students’ visa and registration issues.
  • To contribute the process of establishing International partnerships for student/staff exchange and research collaboration, in particular, those funded by EU commission, US government and other foreign donors to ensure international cooperation and mobility projects.
  • To ensure appropriate due diligence processes for partnership proposals are undertaken, recorded and evaluated, with recommendations for new Partnerships to be considered by the Rector/Executive.
  • To review and update funded opportunities data. 
  • To report on the university international affairs and related follow up actions on a quarterly basis.
  • To be the institutional first point of contact for partnership requests, and to ensure that follow up action is recorded.
  • To develop of recommendations to improve the internationalization process, based on collected data review.
  • To maintain local society engagement with international focus.
  • To update the university web page on international affairs. 
  • To maintain a cooperation with organizations abroad to attract experts and executives, who are either retired or taking some time off work. 
  • To assist the Department as appropriate, in elaboration of relevant reports concerning the international relations of university.
  • To assist prospective international staff/students and facilitate their recruitment to and engagement with the University;
  • To support the total integration, retention, and success of University international community;
  • To provide advice to international staff and students on academic and social matters ensuring the confidentiality, security and integrity of information is maintained in line with University requirements.
  • To work effectively and collaboratively with University colleagues in other information and advice outlets and services to ensure accuracy, clarity, consistency and completeness of information provided concerning international affairs in university.
  • To prepare annual plans of activities and events for the year, interim and end of the year review reports analyzing progress and reflecting on success and issues to address. 
  • To be responsible, in consultation with the Head of the Department, for developing the International strategy and tailoring the Internationalization program. 
  • To undertake other responsibilities as instructed by the line manager. 
  • Any other appropriate duties as directed by the Rector.

  • Additionally to the principle accountabilities of the Senior Officer on International Collaboration, the post holder is responsible for performing the duties to enrich the international portfolio as well as performance of University globally, participate in international meetings and events. It is expected active involvement in elaboration of proposals for both internal (Policy and Regulations) and external purposes (applications for foreign grants), including other engagements concerning the issues of international affairs.  Specifically:
  • Collecting and summarizing all Records concerning international data;
  • To provide statistical analysis based on collected and mined data;
  • To participate in international events, meetings to maintain sustainable international network and cooperation;
  • To host events and undertake activities for students and staff to participate in study/training programs abroad (Info days, introduction presentations). 
  • To maintain local society engagement with international focus, including close ties with Ministry of Secondary and Specialized Education of the Republic of Uzbekistan when it needed.
  • Advising and guiding University stakeholders on the international matters, NUU international policy and procedures;
  • Advising and guiding international applicants on the application process and accurate completion of the application form;
  • Preparing and maintaining minutes of meetings;
  • Ensuring the accuracy of the international data and the minutes of the meetings held;
  • Preparing an agenda for the meetings;
  • Maintaining attendance record is adhered to at office meetings;
  • Maintaining a phone and e-mail directory of international staff and students;
  • Undertaking other responsibilities as may be required for proper administration.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor or Master degree in Business Administration, Management, Economics, Law and related sphere. 
  • Be competent in Uzbek, Russian and English to a high standard, fluency is important both oral and written
  • At least 3 years of experience of in the related sphere
